“Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.” 1 Peter 2:11 Surely one of the “passions of the flesh” we all struggle with is greed: the desire to have more things to bring us comfort and peace of mind. But that shows us the real problem with greed: it wages war against our soul – it urges us to place our trust in the things of this world and not in God. But St. Peter reminds us that we are sojourners and exiles: we belong to the Kingdom of God. We have been purchased by the blood of Christ and belong to Him.

Our Annual Rummage Sale for Trinity Lutheran Early Learning Center Was a huge success; A huge Thank you to Joan Walker & Carol Tracy and for all that participated

THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS! Because of your kindness, we were able to hand out 60 sack lunches, 30 hygiene kits, & random hygiene items. We have been able to gain the trust of a lot of the people we meet and they have been more open to our praying for them. After years of many problems, Will rededicated his life to Christ on Saturday. God is truly blessing this ministry and we are so very thankful for your love and support! LOVE OUT LOUD – Shawn, Elizabeth & Jay

Scrip - is a way you can help raise funds for our Early Learning Center as you go about your normal spending activities.  When you purchase a Scrip gift card a percentage of what is spent is given to the ELC.  Example: If you purchase a $100 Safeway Scrip gift card, you get to buy $100 worth of Safeway merchandise and 4% ($4) will go to the ELC.  There are many retailers who participate in the scrip program.  On Hand to purchase from the Church Office are cards for: Arco, Shell, Safeway, Food Max, Raleys, Walmart , Home Depot, Lowes, Burger King, Jack in the Box, Taco Bell, Subway, Starbucks, Carl’s Jr.  Target, Macy’s, Kmart, PetSmart, Cinamax, Applebee’s, Olive Garden, Red Robin, Red Lobster not to mention all the cards you can order from the list ( located in the Church Office).  Donna sells every first and third  Sunday after the services.  Also  she is in the Church Office Tuesday – Thursday from 10-4.

Life thoughts : Christ in the flesh ensures no sheep goes forth alone, not even the strays or stragglers (John 10:4). His Gospel gives company and community along with forgiveness and salvation (Acts 2:42-45). Having Father and family nearby can stave off sin and death. Good Shepherd, let us bring care by being it. Amen.

God Bless Your Week!
